Library Research Resources

  • ScienceDirect: ScienceDirect offers more than a quarter of the world's scientific, medical and technical information online. It includes over 2,000 peer-reviewed journals, hundreds of book series, handbooks and reference works, all the way back to volume one, issue one.
  • Books24x7:ITPro: Provides electronic access to several thousand ebooks, covering topics in computer software, hardware, e-commerce, information management, IT project management, etc. Books24x7 security requirements require that on- and off-campus users log in to the library's proxy server using their campus network ID and password.
  • OneSearch@IU: A new search tool that allows you to search multiple research databases at once and identify recommended subject specific resources. OneSearch is connected through the IU Bloomington Library web site pages in the Find Information section and in Recommended Resources in the Libraries, Collections and Departments section.
  • IUPUI Ebrary ebooks: Large multidisciplinary ebook collection, including several hundred information technology ebooks. In addition to using keyword or subject searches, ebooks can be found by using the browse option.
  • ILLiad: Interlibrary Services at IUPUI Library System to get materials (books, papers, thesis, etc) that aren't in the IU library system.
  • NetLibrary: Large multidisciplinary ebook collection, including over one thousand computer and media related ebooks.
  • Google Scholar (advanced or simple): Provides a simple way to broadly search for scholarly literature. From one place, you can search across many disciplines and sources: peer-reviewed papers, theses, books, abstracts and articles, from academic publishers, professional societies, preprint repositories, universities and other scholarly organizations. Google Scholar helps you identify the most relevant research across the world of scholarly research.
  • ACM Portal (ACM Digital Library and Guide to Computing Literature) The Digital Library site provides current access to the ACM journals, magazines, proceedings and newsletters. This page allows searches of all ACM materials, including scholarly materials such as the journals and conference proceedings collection.
  • IEEE Xplore Portal: Access to three collections of IEEE materials: core magazines and journals, a conference proceedings package, and the Computer Society Digital Library (all online-only). The Xplore system includes titles and years not included IUPUI offerings.
  • Faculty of 1000 (Biology): New article reviewing service from the publisher of BioMed Central. Disciplinary scholars provide comments and rate each article in importance via a color-coded system. Reviews can be browsed via 17 focused subject areas, including bioinformatics, biotechnology, genomics & genetics, and molecular biology.
  • IUPUI Library Informatics Portal: Provides a gateway to many informatics-related resources available to IUPUI Informatics students and scholars.
  • IUPUI Library Computer Science Portal: Provides a gateway to many informatics-related resources available to IUPUI Computer Science students and scholars.
  • Oxford Dictionary of Biology online: 5000 entries searchable through Oxford Reference Online.
  • Oxford Dictionary of Computing online: 6500 entries searchable through Oxford Reference Online.
